The Sandhill #3384 H Dolly modified the existing H dolly design (having two parallel treads) to cover all exposed surfaces (having four treads; two horizontal and two vertical). To increase the tread life each section is glued and staples. The tread is composed of a one ply rubber belting. Maple is used for the headers and rails. The rail thickness is 1-1/4". Each header is bolted to the frame by four screws that also attach to the caster plate. Large plate double race swivel faultless casters with 4" wheels are the standard. The combination of using the caster screws to anchor the header and using large plate casters add to the dolly's overall design and strength.
